The ghost of Albo past

The local Move Beyond Coal group that I’m a member of did our little bit for the week of COP 28 by staging a little street theatre at Anthony Albanese’s electoral office in Marrickville. I got to wear a Peter Dutton mask.

Here are the Emerging Artist and me with masks on:

@movebeyondcoalsydney posted a reel on Instagram, but try as I might I couldn’t embed it here. If you click on the image below, you can see the reel.

  1. Well performed, Jonathan. I felt you truly inhabited the character you were playing. The actor behind the mask was all but unrecognisable. Or was it type-casting?

  2. Oh dear! It’s interesting what a mask allows, though as Dutton I turned my back during the Acknowledgement of Country and don’t know if I’ll ever shake the guilt.

  3. Proud of you, JS – and by playing the role honestly – you had to turn your back on the Welcome to/Acknowledgement of – country. As only PD could do/would do! Jim
