Apart from a trans joke that might be seen as sailing too close to the wind , this has aged vey well. All thee principals are perfect. I just read that the director, Sharon Maguire, is a good friend of Helen Fielding, who wrote the Bridget Jones books and has a writing credit for the movie. It shows.
I must have read at least ten people saying that Middlemarch is the greatest English novel. I did love it as an undergraduate and it's on my list to reread. In the meantime, this was my Kris Kringle gift from the Book Group.
